Community Involvement
Being a part of the local community is important to the success of a service
organization.
The VFW Post 3978 Ladies Auxiliary applies the
programs adopted in the National organization to our local community.
Here are a few examples from the past year:
- Conducted a Missing Man Memorial on Patriots Day with Missing Man Table
- Recognized local citizens with a certificate for Citizenship
Day (displaying the U.S. flag on a daily basis). - Honored our Gold Star
Mothers by placing an ad in the newspaper September 26. - Held Spaghetti
Dinner to raise funds for Veterans Memorial Park (01/10/09) and raised
about a $1000. - Assisted VFW Post 3978 with the Car Show
fundraiser. - Entered a float in the Oxford Christmas parade. - Donated
$300 for Christmas gifts to the State Veterans Home. - Creating a cookbook as
a fundraiser project.
Our Auxiliary has worked with the Holly Springs Auxiliary
on several Holiday projects for the State Veterans Home.
